 Charity Donations

Although doing a LEJOG or a JOGLE in itself can be a worthwhile, life changing event, it would be foolish and selfish to pass up the chance to raise a little money for charities close to our hearts along the way.

With this in mind we have chosen a charity each:

Rachel has chosen to support the NSPCC - a charity that does an enormous amount of work every year to ensure the safety and protection of children across the nation. They need the money year in year out to continue the availability of their services - including childline, to every child that is at risk.

Chris wishes to continue to support a charity he has helped to champion, and indeed is the vice president of DMAA (Disability Martial Arts Association). A charity who's aim is to promote martial arts and raise awareness, of people with disability’s who wish to return or to take up martial arts, and improve their health and a have a better way of life.

Myself, I am going to support British Heart Foundation, which not only supports people when the worst happens, it also leads the way with pioneering research into heart disease. On top of all the work they do, it also heavily promotes exercise - fun runs, cycling events etc - as a method of raising money. This in itself creates a wonderful ethos and addresses the cause of the problem rather than just treating the symptoms.

You can donate to Rachel and mine's charity by clicking on the banner below to visit our Virgin Money Giving  page  - any money donated will be split 50/50 between the NSPCC and British Heart Foundation.

If you wish to support Chris and his excellent charity - due to the small nature of DMAA and the charges Virgin Money pages demand, it is for now un-economical to set up. So for the time being donations can either be made by cash, cheque, or a paypal gift to littlezeus11@hotmail.com .
